Melrose Heights residents have the benefit of attending award winning Richland County District 1 Schools including Brennan Elementary School, Crayton Middle School, and A.C. Flora High School.

Downtown Columbia offers fun for every one of all ages. Just a few minutes away are the Congaree Vista and Five Points. The thriving Congaree Vista entertainment district has 60 art galleries and specialty shops as well as 40 restaurants and bars. The Five Points area, often known for being the chosen hang out spot for college students, has more to offer than people may think. There are great boutiques, cafes, restaurants, and bars with lots of personality.

Residents can venture to the Riverbanks Zoo and Garden or the Cayce Riverwalk parks located along the Congaree River. The Congaree National Park, South Carolina’s only national park, is minutes away and a beautiful place for canoeing, bird watching, camping, hiking. Also, Lake Murray is only a 30 minutes drive and is a perfect “outdoor playground” where you can explore the outdoors with kayaking, boating, swimming, fishing, and much more!
